Summary
We are seeking a Summer Camp Basketball Coach to join our team. This role is vital in inspiring young athletes, promoting teamwork, and supporting our mission to empower community members through sports and education.
Responsibilities
- Lead basketball activities and coaching sessions for camp participants.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages teamwork and sportsmanship.
- Plan and organize daily sports activities aligned with camp objectives.
- Ensure the safety of all participants during activities.
- Support the development of players' skills through constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with other camp staff to create engaging programs.
- Promote healthy competition and fun among campers.
- Assist with other camp-related duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Attending Post Secondary or will be attending next year
- Proven experience in coaching basketball or similar sports.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and engage young people.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to sports activities.
- Experience working with diverse youth populations is preferred.
- Enthusiasm for working in a community-focused environment.
- First aid certification is a plus.
- Ability to commit for the duration of the summer camp.
