Position Overview
The psychotherapist provides brief psychotherapy services to an adult clientele aged 16 and older presenting with various mental health concerns and/or concurrent disorders. As part of their role, they conduct clinical assessments, develop intervention plans tailored to client needs, and provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support recovery, autonomy and well-being.
Some complex situations will require the clinician to participate as part of a multidisciplinary psychiatry team.
In addition, this position involves triaging internal psychotherapy referral requests, participating in the one-session counselling clinic, and supporting the smooth functioning of these clinic days. The psychotherapist will benefit from internally provided clinical consultation.
TEMPORARY FULL-TIME POSITION for approximately 1 year
- Day and evening shifts available, as well as 8-hour and 12-hour shifts
- Remote work available (hybrid model)
- Possibility of working at different sites according to organizational needs.
- Possibility of providing clinical support in other programs within the Mental Health and Addictions Centre.

What we are looking for
- Master’s degree in a field that allows for the practice of psychotherapy.
- Member in good standing of an Ontario College governing psychotherapy (must be able to serve an interprovincial clientele).
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in psychotherapy with a clientele presenting with mental health concerns and/or concurrent disorders.
- Expertise in cognitive-behavioural, interpersonal, narrative and solution-focused therapy, EMDR, reconsolidation, etc.
- Solid knowledge of mental illness, concurrent disorders and associated challenges in rural settings.
- Leadership qualities and demonstrated experience guiding clinical teams.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and interprofessional environment.
- Comfortable with virtual therapy modalities.
- Working knowledge of both official languages.
- Must have a valid driver’s licence and insurance, and be able to use their car.
- Must have a good attendance record.
- Must have a positive attitude and align with HGH values.
- Satisfactory review of the employee file by Human Resources.
