POSITION SUMMARY
Longterm Technology Services is seeking a professional Application Engineer – Designcenter (formerlyNX CAD) to join our growing team of engineering experts. This role is ideal for a technically skilled professional who thrives in client-facing environments and enjoys solving complex design and process challenges. You will play a key role in delivering customized Designcenter (formerly NX CAD) solutions, driving process automation, and supporting digital transformation initiatives for our clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Client-Focused Engineering Consulting
· Serve as a technical advisor to clients, providing expert guidance on implementation, optimization, and integration with PLM systems (Teamcenter).
· Lead discovery sessions to understand client needs and translate them into actionable engineering solutions.
Design Automation & Customization
· Develop and deploy custom automation tools using NX Open API (C# or Python) to streamline design workflows and improve productivity.
· Create installation scripts and user documentation for client distribution.
Process Governance & Standards
· Establish and enforce NX modeling standards aligned with DFM and GD&T principles.
· Implement design validation protocols using NX Check-Mate and support MBD/PMI adoption.
Training & Enablement
· Deliver tailored training sessions and workshops for client engineering teams.
· Create technical documentation, best practice guides, and onboarding materials.
Innovation & Integration
· Stay current with Siemens PLM advancements and industry trends.
· Recommend and implement multi-CAD interoperability strategies and ERP integration solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Computer Science, or related field.
· 3+ years of hands-on experience with Siemens NX, including large assembly management and 3D modeling.
· Proficiency in NX Open API (C# or Python), Block UI Styler, and Teamcenter lifecycle management.
· Strong understanding of GD&T, DFM, and MBD principles.
· Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred
· Proficient in authoring custom validation checks using NX Check-Mate to ensure adherence to engineering standards and modeling best practices.
· Skilled in implementing PMI standards, including converting legacy models using NX’s Convert to PMI functionality.
· Proficient in freeform modeling techniques to support complex surface design, industrial styling, and advanced geometry creation.
· Experience integrating with enterprise systems (e.g., ERP) using NX Open scripting, and familiarity with the NX toolchain for deploying custom solutions.
· Strong presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to clients and internal teams.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and remote collaboration platforms such as Teams and SharePoint.
Pay: $60,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
