Duties
- Assist with the safe demolition of buildings, walls, and other structures using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment under supervision
- Remove debris, hazardous materials, and recyclable materials from work sites in accordance with safety protocols
- Support the setup of demolition sites, including securing areas and establishing safe work zones
- Assist with site preparation activities such as clearing, leveling, and basic excavation tasks
- Help skilled tradespeople with tasks like concrete breaking, masonry removal, drywall removal, and framing support
- Follow detailed blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate demolition work
- Operate basic hand tools such as sledgehammers, chisels, drills, and saws safely and efficiently
Qualifications
- Previous construction or demolition experience is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic heavy equipment operation is a plus
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to demolition activities and site cleanup
- Basic understanding of construction disciplines such as carpentry, masonry, drywall installation, or electrical work is advantageous
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions
- Strong teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward safety and quality standards
