BReD is looking for a dependable, organized, and people-focused Service Team Leader to support the daily operations of our organic sourdough bakery and café in Whistler.

This role is ideal for someone with café, bakery, or hospitality leadership experience who enjoys leading by example, building a strong team culture, and keeping a fast-paced small business running smoothly.
What you’ll do
- Support the day-to-day operation of the bakery and café
- Lead shifts and help ensure excellent guest service at all times
- Support and supervise the service team in a hands-on way
- Help coordinate workflow between front-of-house and kitchen teams
- Assist with training, coaching, onboarding, and performance follow-through
- Help monitor labour, sales, and day-to-day operational efficiency
- Respond professionally to customer questions, concerns, and service issues
- Help manage inventory, product availability, pre-orders, and general organization
- Ensure the space is clean, well-stocked, and aligned with food safety and presentation standards
- Uphold company policies, workplace expectations, and health and safety standards
- Act as a culture leader who models accountability, communication, and respect
The Team Lead role includes overseeing supervisors and daily operations, supporting hiring, onboarding and ongoing training, monitoring costs, sales and labour performance, and acting as a culture carrier and business leader.
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience in a café, bakery, restaurant, or hospitality leadership role
- Strong customer service and team leadership skills
- Confident communication and problem-solving ability
- Ability to stay organized and calm in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and operational consistency
- Ability to coach staff and help maintain clear standards
- Comfortable with early mornings, weekend work, and busy seasonal periods
- A positive, hands-on attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed
- Alignment with BReD’s values and enthusiasm for plant-based, sustainability-led food businesses
Nice to have
- Experience with bakery or café service operations
- Experience with scheduling, labour tracking, or inventory support
- FoodSafe and/or First Aid certification
- Experience training newer team members
Compensation and benefits
- $26–$28 per hour, depending on experience
- Shared gratuities in accordance with company policy

BReD’s handbook lists the Service Team Lead pay range as $26–$28/hour, and notes that eligible employees may access extended health benefits after completing the three-month probation period. It also states that customer gratuities are shared evenly based on hours worked, excluding owners.
Schedule
- Full-time
- Must be available for weekends and busy seasonal periods
- Work hours are generally Wednesday to Sunday, 8:15AM to 4:45 PM, though leadership responsibilities may require flexibility.
