Portable Toilet / Septic Truck Technician

DBL Disposal Services is seeking a reliable, hardworking, and motivated Portable Toilet / Septic Truck Technician to join our growing team. This position is responsible for servicing, cleaning, delivering, and removing portable toilets and related sanitation equipment throughout Vancouver Island. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, operating service equipment safely, and providing professional customer service in a fast-paced environment.
This is a hands-on position requiring strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Operate portable toilet septic service trucks and vacuum systems safely and efficiently
- Deliver, set up, service, clean, and remove portable toilets, hand wash stations, and related sanitation equipment
- Pump waste tanks and transport waste to approved disposal facilities
- Restock units with toilet paper, sanitizer, urinal pucks, soap, and other service supplies
- Wash, sanitize, deodorize, and inspect units to ensure cleanliness and functionality
- Complete minor repairs and maintenance on portable toilets and equipment as required
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain accurate service records, route sheets, and inspection documentation
- Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, scale attendants, and management
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company safety standards and environmental regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of trucks, equipment, and yard areas
- Assist with shop, yard, and operational duties when required
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license required
- Air brake endorsement considered an asset
- Experience operating vacuum trucks, septic trucks, or service equipment considered an asset
- Ability to work independently and manage service routes efficiently
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift, pull, and maneuver hoses, pumps, and equipment safely
- Mechanically inclined with strong problem-solving abilities
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-oriented
- Experience in waste management, construction, septic, or portable sanitation industries considered an asset
