Purpose
To lead and oversee quality assurance and quality control activities on assigned projects by ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project specifications, company standards, and applicable codes. This role proactively identifies and resolves quality concerns, minimizes project risk, and supports successful project delivery.
Leadership and Supervision
- Act professionally and represent RWC with integrity in all interactions.
- Prioritize the safety, well-being, and success of RWC, its employees, and project stakeholders at all times.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all stages of work through photographs, inspection records, and detailed notes.
- Oversee site layout activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with project drawings.
- Review drawings and coordinate design discrepancies or conflicts with the Site Supervisor, Foreman, and project team.
- Conduct daily quality inspections to verify workmanship meets project specifications and company standards.
- Be capable of performing and evaluating all site work including steel stud framing, drywall, suspended drywall systems, T-bar and shafts.
- Promote a respectful, collaborative, and professional workplace.
- Enforce all General Contractor requirements and RWC safety policies and procedures.
- Promote safe work practices and proper equipment use.
- Promote RWC values of Integrity, Quality, Accountability, Teamwork, and productivity.
- Coach and mentor crews on quality expectations, installation standards, and best practices.
- Ensure crews follow all project specifications, drawings, company policies, and quality standards.
- Maintain a safe worksite by ensuring employees are properly trained in the safe use of tools, equipment, materials, and required PPE.
Planning and Scheduling
- Effectively assign and prioritize tasks to crews.
- Read, interpret, and apply project drawings, specifications, and details.
- Translate work requirements into prioritized work schedules.
- Coordinate workforce requirements with the Site Supervisor and/or Foreman.
Employee Relations
- Communicate RWC updates to crew members.
- Recognize, address, and resolve quality, performance, and site-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Promote teamwork across all crew members.
Quality Control
- Report potential extras beyond the contract to the Site Supervisor and/or Foreman.
- Perform daily quality inspections and provide timely feedback to crews to ensure deficiencies are corrected promptly.
- Report conflicts between trades that may impact quality, schedule, or productivity.
- Document trade damages using Plexxis or site-specific applications.
Administration
- Track and report deficiencies caused by subcontractors.
- Track and report deficient work completed by RWC.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of trade experience.
- Sound command of the English language with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to be resourceful and anticipate potential issues.
- Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of the trade.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications.
- Proficient with technology including iPads and digital construction software for documentation and reporting.
- Ability to document work through photographs and detailed notes.
- Strong engineering and construction aptitude
- Holding or actively pursuing Red Seal Certification, or competency in all aspects of the trade.
- Level 1 First Aid, Boom Lift and Scissor Lift and Fall Protection certification.
- Supervisor's Responsibility Training.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain high-quality workmanship under project deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams, clients, consultants, and General Contractors.
