We are currently looking for a reliable and experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team full time in Vernon, BC. This position involves both shop work and mobile/on-site repairs.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of Class 1 and Class 3 trucks and heavy equipment including:
- Tandem vac trucks
- Tridem vac trucks
- Pups & trailers
- Knuckle boom crane trucks
- Dump trucks
- Excavators
- Bobcats/skid steers
- Other heavy-duty equipment and machinery
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, air brake, and mechanical systems
- Respond to mobile service calls and on-site repairs
- Complete work efficiently while maintaining safety standards
Requirements:
- Experience working on heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and equipment
- Ability to work independently in both shop and field/mobile environments
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Valid driver’s license required (Class 1 preferred)
- Welding and fabrication experience is an asset
