Job Title – Native Plant Nursery Horticulturalist
Location – EcoLogic Horticulture Nursery – 10 Minutes East of Strathmore
Compensation – Salary commensurate with experience
Schedule – 8–10 hour shifts, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays as required

What we need you for
As a Nursery Horticulturalist, you’ll be a key part of our production team, working wherever support is needed across the nursery. This is a hands-on, elbows deep in native plants role that supports:
- Field production
- Outdoor growing pads
- Greenhouse operations
- Plant handling and warehouse activities
Your work will directly support the health, quality, and readiness of plants destined for restoration projects, green roofs, public spaces, and retail garden centres.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Plant Production & Care
- Assist with planting, transplanting, watering, and general plant maintenance
- Hand weed, prune, and monitor plant health
- Support harvesting, loading, and staging of plants for delivery
- Follow production plans and daily task assignments from supervisors
Greenhouse, Pads & Field Work
- Work in greenhouse environments as well as outdoor growing areas
- Adapt to changing weather and seasonal demands
- Support setup, maintenance, and cleanup of growing areas
Warehouse & Fulfilment Support
- Assist with plant movement, staging, and organization
- Help with seed, soil, or product handling as required
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas

SKILLS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCE
Skills, Experience, or Education Required
- Post-secondary education in horticulture or equivalent hands-on experience
- Experience working in greenhouse and/or outdoor plant production environment
- Ability to safely operate equipment such as forklifts, tractors, loaders, and utility vehicles
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Proven ability to manage oneself
- Ability to lift 40-50lbs
