Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for casual staffing roles within various healthcare facilities. This position offers flexibility to work across different settings, including retirement homes and long-term care settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and be adaptable to diverse clinical settings. Prior experience in acute care, dementia care, pediatrics, or senior care is highly valued. This role is essential in providing high-quality nursing support to ensure patient safety and comfort while supporting facility operations.
Duties
- Deliver direct patient care in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Monitor patient vital signs and observe changes in condition
- Document patient information using electronic health records such as Epic or Cerner systems
- Assist with activities of daily living and provide emotional support to patients and families
- Perform phlebotomy, laboratory procedures, and other clinical tasks as required
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and infection control protocols
- Assist with case management tasks including discharge planning and coordination of services
- Support patients across various age groups including pediatrics, adults, seniors, and hospice patients
Skills
- Proven experience in nursing home, hospital, or acute care settings
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Experience with electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner is preferred
- Strong patient care skills with an emphasis on dementia, senior care, hospice, or pediatric populations
- Ability to perform phlebotomy and laboratory procedures accurately
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Familiarity with assisted living environments and home care services is a plus
- Ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments and patient needs
- Compassionate approach with a focus on delivering high-quality nursing care
Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
