Finish Carpenter
Job Description:
Jon Witzel Contracting is looking for an experienced Finish Carpenter for our residential and commercial sectors. This role requires a competent individual, with excellent craftsmanship & attention to detail for the completion of interior & exterior finishes for residential and commercial projects such as custom homes, renovations, additions, offices and tenant outfits.
Responsibilities:
· Perform construction duties as per project scope of work with an extreme level of detail including: framing, insulation, drywall- boarding & mudding/taping/sanding, trim, paint, millwork installation, flooring, and interior & exterior cladding
· Ability to complete renovation projects from start to finish, working independently or collaboratively with a crew (based on size of project) to ensure the job is completed
· Ability to complete residential custom homes from drywall stage to closing stage, including managing sub-trades labour and coordination
· Ability to read and fully understand design drawings, blueprints and material specifications
· Place a high priority on health & safety practices; familiar with provincial standards and responsible for enforcing safety standards onsite to own crew and sub-contractors
· Communicate in proper manner with homeowners, colleagues, subtrades, interior designers and project coordinators
· Report daily to Project Manager
Skills and Assets:
· Very detail-oriented in all aspects of finish carpentry
· Motivated, dedicated, and a strong work ethic to complete projects in a timely and efficient manner
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills
· Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
· Punctual; great time management skills
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as a team
· Eager, willing to take initiative and lead by example
· A proven ability to problem solve and find solutions efficiently & effectively
· Able to give and receive feedback in order to improve work quality and advance skillset
· Takes pride & responsibility in the quality of your work as well as your crew
· Must have valid Ontario Driver's License and provide own daily transportation to shop

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
