The Delivery / Recovery Driver (G Class licencing) is responsible for safely operating a delivery vehicle to transport new products to East Penn Canada customers and to pick up used or defective batteries for recycling. This role directly contributes to customer satisfaction by ensuring timely, accurate, and professional deliveries, while maintaining compliance with all transportation, safety, and environmental regulations.
East Penn Canada is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Courtice team as a Delivery / Recovery Driver, supporting East Penn customers located in the GTA.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver and pick up product (batteries or scrap materials) at customer locations as per pre-determined delivery schedule
- Load and unload products safely and efficiently – frequent heavy lifting of up to 50 lbs
- Accurately complete delivery, shipping, and warehouse documentation
- Establish positive professional relationships with primary contacts at each customer site
- Oversee function of provided equipment used for loading and unloading of materials
- Perform pre-trip inspections on company vehicle, as well as all tools and equipment stored within (including inspection of tires, lights, brakes, etc)
- Ensure the safety and security of cargo at all times (inspecting each load to ensure it is secured according to policies and procedures prior to departing East Penn warehouse or customer site, keeping delivery vehicle locked and secure when not in operation)
- Assist operations team with warehouse duties during peak seasons or to fill occasional workforce gaps (shipping/receiving, labeling batteries, etc)
Experience, Skills & Competencies
- Must have a valid G-class drivers’ license in good standing
- 2+ years previous delivery driving experience required
- Prior warehouse experience is a strong asset
- Must be willing and able to frequently lift and/or move items ranging in weight from 25-50lbs
- Must be willing and able to occasionally push, pull, or move items exceeding 50lbs
- Must be able to communicate very effectively in English (read, write, speak) with the ability to confidently provide customers with delivery and product information when requested
- Must have strong customer service skills, with previous customer service experience an asset
- Must be comfortable working with mobile technology systems
- Should be able to work with minimal supervision, be self-starting, and able to identify the "next task" without direction
- Must be able to follow processes and adhere to all safety standards (WHIMS & TDG)
- Forklift or related material handling equipment experience is a strong asset

- Background checks including criminal checks, employment references, and driver's abstracts will be required as a condition of employment

- Hiring Range: $24-28 per hour expected total compensation (exact salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data)
