NSB Omega is searching for a Quality Assurance Analyst for our MAJOR Oil & Gas Client in Calgary, AB.
Assignment Description
The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst is responsible for supporting and maintaining the company's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality policies. The QA Analyst will conduct audits, analyze quality data, investigate non-conformances, support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and collaborate with operational teams to drive continuous improvement across oil and gas operations, including drilling, production, transportation, and processing activities.
Monitor and maintain compliance with company quality standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).
Ensure adherence to applicable industry standards, including ISO 9001 and relevant oil and gas regulations.
Review quality documentation, procedures, work instructions, and records for accuracy and compliance.
Plan, conduct, and document internal quality audits.
Assist with external audits conducted by clients, regulatory agencies, and certification bodies.
Track audit findings and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
Monitor supplier and contractor quality performance and compliance.
Collect, analyze, and interpret quality performance data and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
Prepare quality reports, dashboards, and presentations for management.
Support root cause analysis investigations related to quality incidents and non-conformances.
Facilitate corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes.
Investigate quality issues and recommend solutions to prevent recurrence.
Verify the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.
Maintain records of non-conformance reports (NCRs) and quality improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with operations, engineering, maintenance, procurement, and HSE teams to improve quality performance.
Participate in process improvement projects and operational excellence initiatives.
Promote quality awareness and best practices throughout the organization.
Support employee training on quality procedures and standards.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Industrial Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
Relevant quality certifications (e.g., Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) are preferred.
3–5 years of quality assurance, quality control, compliance, or auditing experience.
Experience within the oil and gas, energy, petrochemical, manufacturing, or industrial sectors preferred.
Familiarity with upstream, midstream, or downstream operations is an asset.
Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ISO 9001 standards.
Understanding of root cause analysis methodologies (5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA).
Experience with audit management and corrective action processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Power BI.
Experience with quality management software and document control systems is preferred.
