Job description:
We are a growing CA firm serving both individual and business clients and we are seeking a motivated professional to join our team as a bookkeeper who will be responsible for providing accounting services to our small and medium sized clients. The ideal candidate must be flexible and adaptable to multiple requirements of the role, have the ability to work independently and within a team environment, and have the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform bookkeeping duties, entering data in the accounting software, including preparation of adjusting journal entries and year end closings such as account reconciliations, posting A/R & A/P and adjusting entries, calculation of depreciation, income tax accruals
- Prepare government documents and remittances, responding to government requests
- Meeting with clients as required. Effective communication with our clients, with the CRA, with management and with other team members.
- Preparation of working paper files. Knowledge of Caseware is a plus.
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with special attention to details.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Personal Tax season filings.
- Completion of additional ad-hoc duties or assignments as required.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
· University or college degree preferred
· 3-5 years of accounting experience
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
