Position Summary
The Kamloops Sports Council is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Office Administrator & Bookkeeping Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of the organization and affiliated programs.
This full-time role is ideal for someone who enjoys both administrative coordination and financial organization, and who takes pride in keeping systems, records, and communications running smoothly. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting community sport initiatives through strong organizational skills, professionalism, and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Office Administrator
- Provide day-to-day administrative support for organizational operations and community programs
- Manage correspondence, scheduling, meeting coordination, document preparation, and filing systems
- Assist with event and program administration, registrations, and general coordination
- Maintain organized digital and physical records across multiple projects and organizations
- Support internal processes and identify opportunities to improve administrative efficiency
- Maintain daily office operations like answering phone calls, greeting guests or members, providing general information and support
- Maintain inventory and office supplies
- Maintain the overall look of the office and manage cleaning crews or other support staff
- Support meetings and logistics for events and functions
Bookkeeping & Financial Administration
- Assist with bookkeeping and financial record management for programs
- Process invoices, receipts, expense tracking, and payment records
- Support budgeting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Maintain accurate financial documentation and ensure records are organized and up to date
- Liaise with external bookkeepers, accountants, and auditors as required
Communication & Member Support
- Serve as a primary point of contact for general inquiries
- Provide clear and professional communication with community members, partners, and stakeholders
- Assist with distributing information related to programs, services, and events
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Diploma or certificate in office administration, bookkeeping, business administration, or a related field preferred
- Previous experience in an administrative and/or bookkeeping role preferred
- Experience working with non-profit, sport, or community organizations is considered an asset
Skills & Competencies

- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Experience with QuickBooks Online required

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $40,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
