About the Job
We are looking for a Compost Process Control Technician at our Walker Compost Facility location in Arthur, ON. You will be responsible for operating the software program for our Gore cover composting system along with mitigating odours at our compost site through the use of odour control equipment, working closely with the site operations team to achieve desired results. This is a permanent, full-time position on the day shift (Monday-Friday), 6 am-2:30 pm. The starting wage for the position is $27.14/hour, moving to $29.41/hour upon completing 1 year of service.
What You’ll Be Doing
Operate the Gore cover composting system software program keeping system up to date and ensuring each batch of materials has completed required parameters for industry compliance for composting.
Organizing the schedule for the Gore cover composting process.
Watch over and assist with maintaining the aeration system on the Gore cover composting system.
Daily removal and replacement of Gore Cover Composting System temperature and oxygen probes within required timelines, monitoring to ensure they are functioning properly and providing accurate readings in applicable software.
Service Gore Cover Composting System monitoring probes and related monitoring equipment.
Safely and efficiently operate the 3-stage wet scrubber, following manuals and procedures.
Operate and maintain odour control fans and nozzles along with metering systems, routinely calibrating to ensure proper product usage and placing equipment in the most effective location for odor control.
Manage moisture control equipment for Gore composting process, assisting with their daily placement and minor maintenance.
Perform daily inspections on equipment and processes related to job (scrubber, gore system).
Communicate with vendors to maintain reliable system operations.
Provide occasional coverage for Water Treatment System Operator.
Here’s What You Need
- Minimum high school education.
- Experience in a composting or soil production environment is a strong asset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills in order to organize and prioritize tasks daily.
- Good problem-solving skills to identify and resolve routine issues.
Must possess a valid G-Class Driver’s License.
