Overview
The Middleton Summer Day Camp is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated substitutes to join our team for the upcoming summer season. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with children in a vibrant, supportive environment, helping to create memorable summer experiences. As a Summer Day Camp Substitute, you will support our full-time staff in delivering engaging activities and ensuring a safe, fun atmosphere for all campers. Prior experience in tutoring, teaching, or early childhood education is highly valued, along with a genuine passion for working with children.
Duties
- Assist in supervising children during various camp activities, including arts and crafts, sports, and outdoor play
- Support lead counselors in implementing daily schedules and special events
- Provide one-on-one or small group support as needed
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers by adhering to safety protocols and camp policies
- Help facilitate positive behavior management and encourage inclusive participation among children
- Maintain a clean and organized activity area throughout the day
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to promote a welcoming environment
Qualifications
- Experience working with children, including tutoring or teaching roles preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage children in activities
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and work collaboratively within a team
- Enthusiastic, responsible, and committed to creating a positive camp experience
- Availability during summer months, with flexibility to work various shifts as needed
