MARINE MECHANIC/TECHNICIAN required for Alberni Power and Marine in Port Alberni. Candidate must have minimum 3-years marine technician/mechanical experience. Marine engine certification and/or previous outboard/sterndrive dealership work experience required. Mercury/Mercruiser certification preferred. Computer proficiency is required. Must be organized, clean and have a high level of attention to detail. Must be able to work unsupervised. Must be able to work evenings and weekends if/when required.
Duties include, but are not limited to: Servicing and Repairs of Outboards, Sterndrives and Inboards. Rigging and Repowering Boats. Electrical (DC & some AC) Repairs. Plumbing Repairs. Operating forklifts. Trailer repairs. Small gel coat or fiberglassing repairs. Diagnosing/troubleshooting. Operating boats on the water and hauling by truck. Rigging of new boats and Repowers.
This is a permanent position. Must have a driver's license, prefer minimum Code 20 for towing or be willing to get. First Aid is an asset.
