We are a growing dental laboratory with a team of approximately 55–60 employees, committed to providing exceptional products and service to our clients. As our business continues to expand, we are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting and Finance Manager to help drive operational excellence.
This is an in-person leadership role that requires someone who enjoys building efficient financial processes, maintaining accuracy, and partnering with leadership to support informed business decisions.
Position Summary
The Accounting and Finance Manager will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records while managing payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, government remittances, and financial reporting. This individual will play a key role in developing a stronger, more efficient finance function and providing valuable financial insights to support company growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and process all aspects of payroll, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
- Prepare and submit all required government remittances, including payroll deductions, HST/GST, WSIB, and other regulatory filings.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and collection.
- Perform account reconciliations and maintain the accuracy of the general ledger.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Develop and present financial analytics, KPIs, forecasts, and performance reports to management.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Monitor internal controls and recommend improvements to financial processes and procedures.
- Support year-end preparation and coordinate with external accountants.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with leadership to improve financial systems, reporting, and operational efficiencies.
- Help build and strengthen the overall finance department by improving workflows, reporting, and financial accountability across the organization.
Qualifications
- CPA designation (completed or in progress) is considered an asset.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting or financial management experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and government remittances.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks is required.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting principles and payroll regulations.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
