Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Human Resources Generalist to join our team and support our growing organization. This position is well suited for an individual who is passionate about recruitment and enjoys taking on a variety of administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about creating a positive workplace culture that aligns with our company values.
Responsibilities
Talent Management (Recruitment and Retention)
- Create/Manage recruitment plan to support business requirements to attract, select, develop and retain top talent
- Develop a pipeline of candidates and maintain ongoing links with potential candidates
- Ensure a recruitment presence at relevant professional association events / conferences (ex. APEGA)
- Develop relationships and links with relevant post-secondary institutions (ex. University of Calgary Schulich School of Engineering and SAIT) to help facilitate student recruitment
- Actively promoting the Keywest brand
- Manage Keywest Referral Program
- Partner with client groups to develop recruitment strategies for current and upcoming vacancies that are reflective of business needs and strategy
- Draft position descriptions, job postings, conduct pre-screening, shortlisting, interviews and reference checks.
- Source candidates using a variety of active and passive strategies including social networking tools, advertising, participating in career fairs and networking with internal employees and external contacts
- Ensure offer letter package is accurate and complete.
- Ongoing assessment and revision of recruitment business process design in order to obtain efficiency and best practice.
Human Resources Information Management and HR Metrics:
- HRIS integrity and maintenance, regarding staff information and workforce data
- Create, update and maintain HR reports and statistical documents
- Prepare and analyze workforce data (KPI’s), including headcount, turnover %, employee salary data, billable vs non-billable staff count
- Provide analytical support to Human Resources and leadership, in the area of workforce planning and HR metrics
Employee Relations:
- Collaborate with all Keywest employees to improve morale and contribute to the overall company culture
- Ensure employee relations issues are identified and investigated in a fair and nonbiased manner
- Provide interpretation and support pertaining to the interpretation of applicable legislation such as Provincial Employment Standards, Human Rights, Occupational Health and Safety and case law
- Support leaders regarding effective performance management, including the facilitation of a corrective action plan and termination process
- Active member in the design and delivery of HR programs, practices and processes necessary to support the HR strategic plan
- Recognize business needs trends by consulting with the HR team and business leaders in recommending and implementing solutions that support business performance
- Foster positive relationships with a focus on customer service
Compensation & Benefits
- Supporting the organization’s compensation program, including compensation reviews, determination of compensation rates and salary administration
- Provide support to the company benefit and disability programs, including the implementation of policies, procedures and practices to promote staff health and well-being
HR Policy, Procedure and Program Development:
- Development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
- Provide interpretation and clarity to leadership and staff regarding HR policies and procedures
Organizational Development:
- Support the development and delivery of programs that enhance the performance of leadership, individuals, teams and the company as whole (e.g. performance management, succession planning, career development, management and leadership development, mentoring program, and cross functional training and development)
Qualifications
A certificate, designation, or degree in the area of Human Resources or a related field. Experience in the Oil & Gas Industry is considered an asset.
Must possess the following:
- 5+ years’ Human Resources recruiting experience
- Willing to a work 32 hour work week
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal,
- Strong computer, organizational and technical skills,
- Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects at the same time,
- Capable of working independently,
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization,
- Strong problem-solving skills,
- Must be Confident, Enthusiastic and have a Positive Attitude.
