Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle transactions efficiently, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role requires strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual skills and experience with retail sales or POS systems are a plus. The Cashier will be responsible for managing cash handling, upselling products, and maintaining an organized checkout area.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases
- Operate POS systems accurately to process sales transactions
- Handle cash, credit, and debit payments securely and efficiently
- Provide product information and perform product demos when needed
- Upsell additional items to enhance customer satisfaction and store sales
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area
- Manage customer inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
- Support merchandising efforts by restocking shelves as necessary
- Ensure compliance with company policies regarding cash handling and security
- Assist in inventory management and stock organization as required
Skills
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus
- Experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service preferred
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Ability to perform product demos and upsell effectively
- Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities
- Professional phone etiquette and customer service orientation
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Multilingual skills are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques and retail sales strategies
Pay: $18.25-$22.00 per hour
