About the Role
Sikh Academy is seeking an experienced and values-driven Elementary and Middle School Principal to lead our school community. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong instructional leadership, operational management experience, and the ability to foster a positive, inclusive learning environment rooted in Sikh values such as equality, compassion, and community service.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and support staff, students, and the school community with compassion and professionalism
- Ensure academic programs align with provincial standards and Sikh values.
- Oversee curriculum implementation and instructional practice to maintain high academic standards
- Manage staffing, scheduling, school operations, and daily administration
- Oversee resource and curriculum planning
- Build strong relationships with families, the school board, and community partners
- Ensure compliance with provincial regulations and accreditation requirements
- Promote professional growth and ongoing learning for staff
- Use student performance data to guide decisions and strengthen school programs
Qualifications
- Valid BC Teaching Certificate (required)
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or related field preferred
- Experience in school administration or educational leadership
- Strong understanding of curriculum, instruction, and assessment
- Knowledge of Sikh values and willingness to incorporate them into school culture
- Experience with budgeting, financial planning, and operational oversight
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build trust, motivate staff, and foster an inclusive school environment
