Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Server/ Sommelier who has experience in bar service and a strong understanding of wine, cocktails, sake, and spirits. This role requires someone who can provide excellent guest service, recommend drinks confidently, and maintain a clean and efficient bar operation.
Key Responsibilities:Guest Service & Beverage Recommendation
- Provide friendly, professional service to guests at the bar and tables
- Recommend cocktails, sake, wine, and spirits based on guest preferences
- Explain flavor profiles, pairing suggestions, and sake styles clearly
- Handle guest requests confidently and resolve issues professionally
Bar Operation & Organization
- Keep bar area clean, organized, and fully stocked during service
- Perform opening and closing duties (cleaning, restocking, cash-out)
Inventory & Cost Control
- Track sake and spirit usage and report low stock
- Assist with inventory counting and product rotation (FIFO)
- Reduce waste and follow standard procedures for bar cost control
Teamwork
- Work closely with servers and kitchen staff for smooth service
- Support the team during busy hours with a positive attitude
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience as a bar server (preferred)
- Basic knowledge of cocktails, wine, sake and bar workflow
- Good understanding of sake categories is a strong asset
- Ability to work under pressure during busy service
- Strong communication skills and professional attitude
- Must be responsible, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Smart Serve certification required (or willing to obtain)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Japanese restaurants / izakaya / cocktail bars
- Knowledge of Japanese whisky, shochu, umeshu
- Experience with POS systems and cash handling
Work Schedule
- Evening shifts, weekends required
- Flexible availability is a strong asset

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
