Decora Powder Coatings Ltd. is a growing, quality-driven powder coating manufacturer serving a wide range of industries. We operate automated conveyor systems, curing ovens, spray booths, and industrial finishing equipment. We are currently seeking a certified Red Seal Millwright to support our production and maintenance operations.
Position Overview
We are looking for a Red Seal Certified Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) with strong electrical troubleshooting experience to maintain and optimize our automated powder coating lines and supporting equipment. The successful candidate will play a key role in minimizing downtime, improving efficiency, and maintaining safe plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on conveyors, ovens, spray systems, compressors, and material handling equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems including motors, gearboxes, bearings, chains, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems including:
- 3-phase motors and drives
- Control panels and motor controls
- Sensors, relays, contactors, VFDs
- Basic PLC troubleshooting
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
- Install and align new equipment and machinery
- Perform welding and minor fabrication as required
- Respond quickly to production breakdowns
- Maintain detailed maintenance logs and documentation
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Red Seal Certification – Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) (required)
- Minimum 5 years of industrial manufacturing experience
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills in an industrial environment
- Experience with automated production lines preferred
- Working knowledge of PLC systems (troubleshooting level)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills in English
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Assets
- Experience in powder coating or finishing operations
- Experience with overhead conveyor systems
- Experience with compressed air systems
- Welding and fabrication experience
Working Conditions
- Industrial manufacturing environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Working at heights and confined spaces as required
- Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required
