Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Cashier to oversee daily retail operations and ensure exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive cashiering experience, and a comprehensive understanding of retail management. This role involves supervising staff, managing sales transactions, and supporting store functions to promote a positive shopping environment. Proficiency in POS systems, and prior supervisory experience are highly valued to facilitate effective team management and customer engagement.
Duties
- Lead and supervise cashier team to ensure efficient checkout processes and excellent customer service
- Oversee cash handling procedures, including balancing registers and managing discrepancies
- Assist with merchandising, pricing strategies, and store presentation to optimize sales
- Implement sales promotions and marketing initiatives to drive store traffic and revenue
- Train new staff on POS systems, customer service standards, and store policies
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns professionally to maintain high satisfaction levels
- Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing and onboarding new team members
- Maintain organizational records including bookkeeping, and administrative documentation
- Enforce store policies related to safety, cleanliness, and operational procedures
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience in retail sales or store management roles
- Extensive cashiering background with proficiency in POS systems and cash handling
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and interpersonal abilities
- Knowledge of merchandising, pricing strategies, and sales management principles
- Experience in training & development, and administrative tasks
- Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and bookkeeping
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently through effective time management
