Position Title: Welder (Mobile Maintenance) - Fly-In/Fly-Out Operation
Salary Range: $54/hr + OT
About the Client and Role
Immediately seeking an experienced Welder (Mobile Maintenance). Contract role for several months and can lead to Full-Time. Maintaining Mobile Equipment such as Loaders, Graders, Haul Trucks and Dozers. Our client operates an established mine in Northern Ontario. This is a rotational operation with a 1 week on, 1 week off schedule and will require day and night shifts. We provide travel services for your travel to site and return. Rate is $54/hr plus overtime after 8 hours per day ($63.00/hr over a 12-hour day). Camp accommodations and food are provided.

This role provides technical support and coaching to assist the department and the company in striving to achieve their goals of "ZERO HARM"
Main Accountabilities:
- Develop basic templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Determine required equipment and welding method to complete assignments, applying basic knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
- Ignite torch and adjust valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc.
- Analyze basic engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations
- Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications on basic assignments, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler.
- Tack-weld or weld components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment.
- Inspect gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments.
- Remove rough spots from work piece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper.
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Heat, form, and dress metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment
Main Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; must be an inter-provincial registered Welder and 5 years’ related experience
- Must have CWB for SMAW and FCAW
- Prior pipe fitting and welding experience required. Additional welding certifications preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of blueprints, shop mathematics and weld symbols are required.
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Ability to communicate effectively with others using both verbal and written.
- Ability to take care of the customers’ needs while following company procedures.
- Ability to pay attention to details of a project or task
- Basic computer navigation and utilization skills required
Arctic experience and Mining experience will be considered a major asset
