The Role
We're hiring a Lead Cook to run our kitchen. This is a production leadership role, not a restaurant chef role. You plan the daily and weekly cooking lists, keep recipes and batches the same every time, and lead a small team of cooks. You manage your own list day to day without needing constant direction.
You'll make muffins, cookies, baked goods, sandwiches, salads, grab-and-go, soups, chili, and frozen vegan desserts.
The role also includes a few set kitchen-supply ordering tasks. These follow a simple checklist twice a week — they are clear and routine, not open-ended admin.
What You'll Do
- Plan and run daily and weekly production lists
- Cook and bake to consistent recipes and standards
- Keep food safe: cooling, rotation, labelling, storage
- Keep the kitchen clean, including deep cleaning
- Train cooks and assign their tasks
- Order kitchen supplies twice a week from a set checklist
- Cut waste and report shortages or equipment problems
What We're Looking For
Must-haves:
- Strong from-scratch or commercial cooking experience
- Can run a production list without daily direction
- Solid food safety habits
- Reliable, full-time, living in Squamish
Nice to have:
- Red Seal, sous-chef, or cafe/deli experience
- Interest in natural, organic, or vegan food
Pay: $26.00-$29.00 per hour
