Job Overview:
Based on Vancouver Island & the Sunshine Coast, we're currently looking for two Logging Supervisors, to join our teams in Port Alberni and Powell River.
As a part of the Meraki Family, Fall River Logging is a premier provider of full phase stump to dump services on Vancouver Island. We're looking for experienced supervisors to lead Coastal Logging Operations at an exciting time for the industry - with a company that backs its supervisors, not just its equipment.

The ideal Candidate will possess the following qualifications and skill set:
- Minimum 5 years' supervisory experience in coastal logging or a related industry
- In-depth knowledge of industry-specific practices, procedures, and safety regulations and basic cost control measures.
- Strong knowledge of risk assessment, safety management systems (SMS) and relevant regulations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively guide and motivate a team.
- Coaching and performance feedback skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in verbal and written communication across various media.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail and tight deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and cooperatively within a team.
- Ability to use industry software, ERP systems and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Ability to use excel for operational purposes.
- Labour Relations/unionized workforce experience would be an asset
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for quality assurance, resource allocation, productivity and operational reporting for assigned work sites and projects, directing and monitoring progress to achieve operational KPIs.
- Managing the use, maintenance and reporting for company vehicles and equipment ensuring safe and efficient operation that supports operational KPIs.
- Developing a safety-first culture by creating a shared sense of safety leadership among all workers through effective safety onboarding, continuous two-way feedback and modeling safety behaviors.
- Ensuring compliance with the SMS and identifying where updates or improvements to the SMS are required.
- Directing work and monitoring progress on assigned worksites to achieve established deadlines and productivity targets.
- Providing on-the-job training, coaching staff, and participating in recruitment.
- Conducting performance evaluations, addressing performance issues, and providing positive reinforcement, coaching and constructive feedback to team members.
- Communicating with customers and internal management, addressing concerns and escalating internally as required.
- Participating in operational efficiency initiatives and change management and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Acting as a liaison between management and field staff, communicating expectations and providing feedback.

Pay: $110,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
