Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant with ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) training and experience to support children with special needs. This role involves working closely with students, educators, and families to foster a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with children, knowledge of special education practices, and experience in data collection. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in behavioral therapy and special education while making a meaningful difference in students' lives.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers and therapists in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Support children during classroom activities, therapy sessions, and social interactions to promote engagement and learning.
- Collect, record, and analyze data related to student progress and behavioral goals accurately and consistently.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized learning environment that encourages positive behavior and development.
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to ensure consistent implementation of behavioral strategies.
Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized ABA training program for Educational Assistants through an accredited institution
- Experience supporting students with diverse learning, behavioural, communication, and self-regulation needs
- Knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) principles and strategies
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Experience implementing individualized student programming and behavioural supports
- Excellent communication, documentation, and observational skills
