Job Summary
The Produce Associate plays a vital role in ensuring the freshness and quality of the produce department. This position involves assisting customers, maintaining product displays, and ensuring a clean and organized environment. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, be detail-oriented, and possess a passion for fresh produce.
Duties
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing excellent customer service.
- Maintain the freshness and quality of produce by regularly checking for spoilage and removing any damaged items.
- Organize and restock produce displays to ensure an appealing presentation.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and displays to uphold health and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations within the department.
- Assist in inventory management by tracking stock levels and reporting shortages.
- Sell produce items while providing information on their benefits and uses to enhance customer experience.
- Utilize forklift equipment as needed for moving heavy items safely (if certified).
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Previous experience in retail sales.
- Able to lift heavy boxes that weights more than 40lb.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Food Handler Certificate.
- A passion for fresh produce and commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
