Situated in the heart of the vibrant village of Radium Hot Springs, B.C., the Radium Hot Springs Public Library (RHSPL) is a welcoming, growing, and highly active community hub.
RHSPL is inviting applications for the position of Assistant Library Director. The successful candidate will take the lead on library programming, the Interlibrary Loans service, and social media management, and will be responsible for various daily administrative duties as assigned by the Director.
Strong candidates ideally will be familiar with how public libraries operate and with the numerous communities RHSPL serves. They also will be able to work collaboratively and interact effectively with a wide diversity of people. A strong work ethic and a willingness to learn and grow in the role are critical assets. While prior library experience is preferred, a combination of alternative experience, education and knowledge will be considered.
Most importantly, our next Assistant Library Director will prioritize patron service, literacy cultivation, and enactment of the RHSPL Strategic Plan, including its Mission, Mandate, and Values (https://radium.bc.libraries.coop/library-information/strategic-plan/).
Terms:
· Minimum 30 hours per week;
· $25.00 to $30.00 per hour, pending experience and qualifications;
· A 3-month probationary period;
· Benefits program eligibility following a successful probationary period;
· A clean vulnerable sector criminal record check is a condition of hire;
· A negotiable start date, but ideally before mid-October.
