Sales Consultant – Kitchen Cabinets
Pay: $40,000 – $105,000/year (base + commission, uncapped)
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday – Friday
Experience: 1+ years in sales, design, construction, or client-facing retail considered. Experience in the kitchen industry is an asset.
ABOUT THE ROLE
JJ Cabinet Warehouse is one of Winnipeg’s most trusted destinations for kitchen cabinets, countertops, and full renovation packages, and we’re growing. We’re looking for a Sales Consultant who takes genuine ownership of their results, enjoys the craft of helping people make great decisions, and wants to build something for themselves inside a company that rewards performance.
You’ll guide homeowners and contractors through one of the most significant purchases they’ll make. You’ll do it by asking great questions, listening carefully, and proposing solutions that fit their needs. Cabinet experience is an asset but not totally required if you’re a fast learner. The right mindset and work ethic are valued.
WHAT A STRONG MONTH LOOKS LIKE
This is what success looks like in this role, day in and day out:
- Your pipeline is clean and moving. You know exactly where every deal stands and what the next step is.
- You’ve followed up consistently with every quote you’ve sent, not frantically, but on a system.
- A satisfied client just referred their neighbor to you because you made the process easy.
- You learned something new this week: about the product, your process, or your clients.
- You hit your number. Or beat it. Either way, you know why.
WHO YOU ARE
You take ownership of your actions. When something goes sideways, your first instinct is to fix it, not explain it. You’re coachable (Professional Coaching is a part of the position) feedback lands and you actually apply it. You have enough grit to push through the slow stretches and enough optimism to keep momentum going when it’s hard.
You think in terms of what’s best for the client first. You’ve found that this approach tends to work out well for your commission, too.
You don’t need to know cabinets on day one. We’ll teach you that. You do need to know how to listen, ask the right questions, tell a story that connects, and close with quiet confidence.

- You read people quickly and adapt your approach without losing authenticity.
- You ask questions that uncover real needs, not just the surface request.
- You handle objections without getting defensive. You stay curious, not combative.
- You hold the customer needs in high regard, understanding and matching or exceeding expectations = everyone wins.
- You ask for the sale, consistently, confidently, and at the right moment.
- Basic comfort with design tools or CRM software is an asset (we’ll train the right person).
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Following up with leads, warm prospects, new and past clients on a consistent rhythm.
- Establishing and curating relationships with new Prospects
- Drawing kitchen designs using cutting edge software
- Running consultations and preparing clear, persuasive cabinet proposals.
- Using our CRM daily to keep your pipeline accurate and your notes useful.
- Collaborating with our installation, and operations teams to deliver a seamless client experience.
- Protecting your selling time by managing your calendar deliberately.
- Reviewing wins and losses to sharpen your process over time.
- Asking for referrals from satisfied clients and nurturing those relationships.
