The Opportunity:
Hudbay Minerals Inc. is looking for an experienced Health and Safety Coordinator for our Snow Lake Mill in Snow Lake, MB. This position is a 5/2 schedule.

There is a camp available while on shift for those who wish to drive in and out to Snow Lake; please note this is not a “fly-in-fly-out” opportunity. Relocation packages are available for those who wish to relocate to the vibrant community of Snow Lake.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to Stall Mill to meet requirements set out in both the ISO 45001 Health & Safety and ISO 14001 Environment Managements systems.
- Provides training as required, supporting the Mill Trainer, on various topics such as but not limited to orientations, confined space, lock out, hot work, fall protection and WHMIS.
- Assists in the development of safe work plans, safe work procedures utilizing risk assessment tool.
- Conduct inspections in the workplace to ensure safe work plans are being followed, permits are completed properly, and workers are aware of policies and procedures involving their job.
- Coach employees on policies and safe work procedures.
- Addresses employee safety concerns and ensures issues are brought forward to management.
- Attend Health & Safety Committee monthly meetings.
- Prepares Health and Safety related information and provides research on health, industrial hygiene and personal protective equipment.
- Monthly Physical Conditions Audit - tour surface areas identifying insufficiencies and submitting a written report to management along with suggested corrections.
- Incident/accident investigations & Intelex Effectiveness reviewer.
- Maintain & inspect safety items such as AED’s, First aid kits, eye wash stations fall protection inspections and equipment calibrations etc.
Professional Experience / Qualifications:
- Computer Skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, Ellipse, Intelex
- WHIMIS, First Aid, Hazmat, Fire Extinguisher and Maintenance Training
- Audit and Supervisory experience

Pay: $104,122.00-$115,691.00 per year
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Snow Lake, MB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
