Job Description
Paton Aggregates & Soils Ltd. is seeking a motivated and reliable Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, including front-end loaders, screening plants, and stacker belts; loading trucks and trailers; maintaining a safe work environment; and supporting daily yard operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service at all times.
- Assist customers with loading purchased products.
- Safely operate loaders and other heavy equipment.
- Safely load trucks and trailers with materials.
- Operate and maintain screening plants and stacker belts.
- Follow all company policies and procedures,
- Comply with applicable health and safety legislation including the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or equipment damage immediately.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with general labour duties, including lifting, moving materials, assembling products, changing screens, performing general maintenance, and supporting other departments as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating loaders and heavy equipment is required.
- Customer service experience is considered an asset.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Surface Mining Common Core training is considered an asset.
- Class D Driver's Licence with Z Endorsement is considered an asset.
- Must be able to perform physically demanding work, including lifting 50 lbs and moving materials.
- Must be able to safely enter and exit equipment frequently throughout the day and work in varying weather conditions.
- Must be 25 years of age or older.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a related field is required.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00-$29.00 per hour

- Putnam, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
