JOB TITLE: Shoreside Maintenance Labourer
JOB SUMMARY: Work a variety of roles as a member of the onshore maintenance team.
JOB TYPE: Full-time, hourly
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
General Responsibilities
· Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
· Demonstrate professional demeanor, attitude, and cleanliness at all times while in passenger areas.
· Able to stay motivated when working independently or as part of a team.
· Follow all tasks as directed by supervisor or company management.
· Follow all health and safety policies and procedures as instructed.
Maintenance Duties
· Work as part of the Maintenace Crew
· Follow all tasks as directed by Maintenance Supervisor.
· Use power tools and machinery including, but not limed to:
- forklifts,
- power drills,
- grinders
- pressure washers
· Assist welders, carpenters, painters or other tradespeople on-site.
· Handle and transport materials and equipment.
· General yard clean up as required.
· Operation of bulk fuel pumping systems.
· Work on barges and other vessel while at dock or the beach (THIS IS NOT AN ONBOARD ROLE)
· Ensure all equipment, fuel hoses, tool etc are all cleaned and stored in a safe manner.
TIckets and Certifications
· MUST HAVE a valid BC driver's license and own reliable tranportation to and from Menzie's Bay, (The Campbell River Marine Terminal)
Useful but not mandatory (will have the opportunity to learn on the job)
· WHIMIS
· TDG (Transport of Dangerous Goods)
· Forklift Operators Ticket
· Willingness to learn to drive tractors, tankers and heavy equipment
