Position: Dance Instructor (Ballet / Hip-Hop / K-Pop / Jazz) & Summer Camp Dance Teacher
We are seeking an energetic, creative, and dedicated Dance Instructor to teach students aged 3–16 in one or more dance styles, including Ballet, Hip-Hop, K-Pop, and Jazz. The ideal candidate is passionate about dance education, enjoys working with children and teenagers, and can inspire students to build confidence, discipline, coordination, and performance skills in a positive and supportive environment.
In addition to regular dance classes, the instructor will also contribute to the planning and delivery of dance programs for summer camps, workshops, showcases, and special events.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and age-appropriate dance classes for students aged 3–16.
- Teach one or more dance styles including Ballet, Hip-Hop, K-Pop, Jazz, and other related genres.
- Develop structured lesson plans that support technical development, musicality, creativity, and performance skills.
- Teach proper dance techniques, body alignment, flexibility, coordination, rhythm, and stage presence.
- Create choreography for classes, performances, competitions, recitals, and school events.
- Adapt instruction to accommodate different ages, skill levels, and learning styles.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support individual growth.
- Maintain regular and professional communication with parents regarding student development.
- Assist with student evaluations, performances, showcases, competitions, and community events.
- Ensure student safety and follow all studio and school policies.
Summer Camp Responsibilities
- Plan and lead fun, engaging dance activities as part of the school's summer camp and seasonal camp programs.
- Create themed dance workshops that combine movement, creativity, teamwork, and performance.
- Teach beginner and intermediate dance techniques in an energetic and supportive environment.
- Choreograph and rehearse routines for camp showcases and end-of-session performances.
- Supervise students during camp activities and ensure their safety and well-being.
- Collaborate with instructors from other departments to create interdisciplinary camp experiences.
- Support camp events, performances, and special celebrations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Dance, Performing Arts, Dance Education, or a related field, or equivalent professional training and experience.
- Demonstrated experience teaching dance to children and teenagers.
- Strong technical background in Ballet, Hip-Hop, K-Pop, Jazz, or multiple dance styles.
- Experience creating choreography for performances and student showcases.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage young learners.
- Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate instruction.
- Professional, reliable, organized, and punctual.
- Passion for dance education and student development.
Preferred Assets
- Experience preparing students for performances, competitions, examinations, or auditions.
- Professional performance, competition, or industry experience.
- Ability to teach multiple dance genres.
- Experience teaching in summer camps, recreational programs, after-school programs, or enrichment programs.
- First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
- Experience organizing recitals, showcases, and community performances.

Pay: $17.20-$40.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
