Compensation: From $32.89 per hour to $41.38 per hour, according to experience.
Additional Benefits: 4% vacation pay top-up to hourly rate, and one paid day off per month commencing after one full month of work. Union dues deduction of 1%.
Regular Work Hours: From 9 am to 5 pm, not including a .75-hour unpaid lunch break (7.25 work hours per day), Monday to Friday (36.25 work hours per week). Flexibility to work occasional additional paid hours will be required for peak periods.
Work Location: 100% onsite at the client's downtown Toronto office, near TTC station.
Position Reports To: Finance Manager.
Responsibilities Summary:
Administering small, full cycle, semi-monthly in-house payroll and managing full cycle accounts payable activities, processing remittances, and supporting related financial reporting and reconciliations. Will maintain accuracy and integrity of payroll and financial records while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
Payroll Administration
- Process full cycle, semi-monthly, in-house payroll for approximately 55 unionized employees using ADP WorkForceNow, including reviewing and entering payroll data and employee hours.
- Prepare payroll reconciliations and validate payroll transactions for accuracy and completeness.
- Post payroll-related journal entries and perform payroll account reconciliations.
- Manage payroll remittances and reconcile payroll records with CRA requirements.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
- Process pension contributions and remittances.
- Prepare benefit reports and process related payments.
- Administer statutory remittances, including WSIB and union dues.
- Generate payroll reports and provide payroll-related analysis as required.
Accounts Payable Administration
- Administer full cycle accounts payable cycle from invoice review through payment processing.
- Verify invoices, expense claims, and supporting documentation for accuracy and approval.
- Process invoices and grant payments within the financial system.
- Prepare weekly payments, cheques, and electronic fund transfers (EFTs).
- Reconcile travel and corporate credit card expenses.
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records while ensuring compliance with internal controls.
- Additional payroll and accounts payable responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
Education: College Diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Payroll Administration, or related field.
Professional Credentials: Payroll certification an asset.
Preferred Work Experience: At least 2+ years of experience in full cycle, in-house payroll and accounts payable administration.
Technical and Language Skills Requirements:
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP system preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (will be tested).
- Strong data entry skills and attention to detail (will be tested).
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, including strong business writing skills and professional telephone manners.

Additional Requirements:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada, providing satisfactory documentation upon request.
- Ability to work 100% onsite, abiding by the organization's health and safety policies.
- Ability to work additional paid hours above standard weekly shift as required.
- Ability to promptly provide a minimum of 2 recent, qualified employment references at the point of client interview who are available to speak with either Marberg or Marberg's client.
