Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman/woman Automotive Technician to join our service team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles with precision and professionalism. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on various vehicle makes and models
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid replacements
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs effectively
- Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams for accurate troubleshooting
- Assemble and disassemble vehicle components with attention to detail
- Adhere to safety protocols, including heavy lifting procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment
- Maintain detailed service records and communicate repair findings clearly to customers
- Assist in the training of junior technicians when necessary
- Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications and industry standards
Experience
- Proven dealership experience or equivalent automotive repair background preferred
- Extensive mechanic experience with a focus on automotive systems and maintenance
- Proficiency in using schematics, diagnostic tools, hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems including electrical, engine, transmission, suspension, and brakes
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or parts replacement
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly
- Experience in reading technical diagrams and schematics for complex repairs
- Prior experience with assembly tasks related to automotive components is advantageous
