Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our team. The Service Advisor will be responsible for monitoring equipment alerts including follow up with customers, creating work orders and coordinating service trucks while ensuring an exceptional service experience. Maintaining proper documentation for federal class 1 truck including IFTA and ELD compliance will be part of this job. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, sales skills, and outstanding customer service to foster trust and satisfaction. Experience in dealership or mechanic environments is highly valued, along with strong mechanical understanding and sales aptitude.
Duties
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, establishing rapport and understanding their vehicle concerns
- Explain repair and maintenance services clearly, providing recommendations based on mechanical knowledge
- Write detailed repair orders, including parts and labor estimates
- Upsell additional services or repairs that benefit the customer while enhancing dealership revenue
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely completion of work and communicate updates to customers
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns
- Maintain accurate records of all service transactions and customer interactions
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized service department environment
- Keep federal truck documentation in order including IFTA and ELD compliance
Experience
- Prior dealership experience is preferred but not mandatory; relevant mechanic or farm equipment repair background is highly beneficial
- Strong mechanical knowledge to understand equipment issues and explain repairs effectively
- Proven customer service skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
- Sales experience, particularly in upselling services or products, is advantageous
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
