Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Ranch Hand/Laborer to join our agricultural team. This role involves hands-on work with livestock, farm machinery, and land maintenance, requiring physical stamina and a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will have experience in animal husbandry, equipment operation, and farm maintenance, contributing to the efficient running of our ranch operations. Responsibilities
- Assist with animal care including feeding, grooming, and health monitoring of livestock such as cattle, horses, and other farm animals
- Operate heavy equipment such as tractors, forklifts, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on farm machinery, tools, and equipment including welding and equipment repair tasks
- Manage land maintenance activities including fencing, mowing, planting, and greenhouse operations
- Support crop cultivation activities involving irrigation systems, planting, harvesting, and horticulture practices
- Handle heavy lifting tasks related to feed bags, supplies, or equipment
- Supervise or assist with other farm workers as needed to ensure smooth daily operations
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment adhering to safety protocols
Experience
- Supervising experience in agricultural or farm settings is preferred
- Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery and equipment repair
- Animal husbandry experience with livestock management and animal handling skills
- Proficiency operating forklifts, heavy equipment, power tools, hand tools, and irrigation systems
- Knowledge of horticulture, greenhouse management, or growing experience is a plus
- Familiarity with welding techniques and general maintenance tasks
- Experience with equine care or farming practices is advantageous
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to land management and feeding schedules
- Heavy lifting capability and physical endurance for demanding outdoor work environments
This position requires candidates to be physically capable of performing strenuous tasks outdoors in varying weather conditions. Prior experience in agriculture or related fields is highly valued for success in this role.
