Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Educator - Level 3 to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will create a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive environment that promotes the social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children. You will implement age-appropriate activities, foster positive relationships with children and families, and support children with diverse needs, including those requiring special education. Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver stimulating educational activities that align with early childhood curriculum standards based on observation - emergent curriculum
- Support the developmental needs of children, including those with disabilities or special education requirements
- Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and independence
- Follow our policies and guidelines for the centre
- Complete daily cleaning and classroom set-ups including provocations while utalizing emergent curriculum practices. This role involves being able to multi-task between cleaning, engaging with children, planning, implementing activities and planning
- Communicate effectively with children, families, colleagues, and specialists in both English and French when applicable
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and behavioural observations
- Utilize computer skills to document learning stories and communicate with families electronically
- Manage classroom routines efficiently through strong organizational skills and time management
- Lead by example to promote positive behavior, social skills, and respectful interactions among children
Skills
- Level 3 childcare certification in Alberta
- Extensive experience working with children in early childhood settings or classroom environments
- Strong emotional development understanding and child guidance skills
- Knowledge of childcare practices, early childhood education principles, and child development stages
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special education needs is preferred
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members
- Excellent organizational skills for managing classroom materials, schedules, and documentation
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to guide young learners confidently
- Proficiency in computer operation for record keeping, lesson planning, and parent communication
- Effective time management skills to balance multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced setting
- Writing skills for documenting observations and preparing reports on children's progress

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
