We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Manager join our team. This part-time role is vital in supporting daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining the high standards of Zarky's Fine Foods. The ideal candidate will contribute to our mission of delivering authentic Italian culinary experiences.
What you'll do:
- Run the floor during evening and weekend shifts — staff supervision, customer service, cash-out, close
- Maintain our standards on product display, food safety, and store presentation
- Step in confidently with difficult customers and turn the moment around
- Coach junior staff through the rhythm of a busy, production-driven environment
- Close the store with the care it deserves
What we're looking for:
- 3+ years in food service, deli, bakery, or grocery — supervisory experience preferred
- Calm under pressure and genuinely warm with customers
- Reliable. We notice when people show up.
- Comfortable making decisions without being asked twice
- Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain)
