Job Summary
We are a family in Surrey, BC looking for a caring and responsible Home Child Care Provider to look after our two young children in our home. The children are a 3-year-old and a 1-month-old newborn. The caregiver will be responsible for providing attentive, age-appropriate care and supporting daily routines for both children in our home.
Duties
- Provide attentive care and supervision for a 1-month-old newborn, including feeding, diaper changes, sleep routines, and monitoring developmental milestones
- Change diapers and support toilet training for the 3-year-old under parents' guidance
- Sterilize bottles and prepare formulas for the infant
- Bathe, dress and feed infants and children
- Supervise and engage the 3-year-old in age-appropriate play, learning activities, and social development
- Prepare meals and snacks for both children
- Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
- Prepare infants and children for rest periods and follow established sleep schedules
- Tend to emotional well-being of both children
- Communicate regularly with parents about children's activities, development, and any concerns
- Light housekeeping related to children's areas only (tidying play areas, children's laundry, organizing toys)
Credentials
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses:
- Emergency childcare first aid and CPR (required, or willingness to obtain within first 30 days)
- First Aid Certificate (required, or willingness to obtain within first 30 days)
Additional information
Security and safety:
- Reference required (minimum 2 professional childcare references)
- Basic security clearance (criminal background check)
Transportation/travel information:
- Work location: Family home in Surrey, BC
- Caregiver not required to provide own vehicle
