Position Title: Structural Engineer-In-Training

Position Overview:
Structural Engineer-In-Training
The position is being offered for an initial three-month period and may be extended, subject to workload demands and operational requirements. This role requires on-site attendance and does not offer remote work options.
We are in particular need of a Structural Engineer-In-Training with between 1 to 3 years of experience in:
- Element and system design under the supervision of more senior engineers
- Conceptual and detailed engineering design
- Preparation and checking of engineering calculations
- Development of sketches for distribution to drafting staff
- Management of individual projects, including client liaison
- Authoring and/or review of engineering reports
- Occasional site visits
The successful candidate will be eligible or currently be registered as an Engineer-In-Training with the Engineers and Geoscientists of BC.
Projects will be structural (primarily) and/or civil (secondary) work such as: buildings, resource sector and highway bridges, machine bases and foundations, platforms, and site development and utility services.
This position requires excellent communication skills with the ability to prepare clearly written correspondence, engineering reports and technical studies, and to communicate effectively face-to-face with clients. You will be expected to work reasonably independent on assigned tasks, but under the guidance of more senior engineers. As well, you will collaborate with other staff members, on projects of all types.
This position includes working in a modern, well equipped consulting engineering office with the opportunity for occasional field work, including travel around beautiful central and northern
British Columbia, and occasionally Alberta, Yukon, and Saskatchewan.
