The company manufactures, sources, and distributes a full range of quality and reliable safety products. These include fire extinguishers, first aid supplies, workplace safety equipment, and fire safety plan boxes.
We also manufacture in-house all standard and custom signs needed to meet fire, building codes, and workplace safety codes. We are a leader in accessible fire and life safety signage and evacuation maps. We are a publisher of fire safety logbooks, detailed guides, and videos on fire safety, and provide training services both online and in person.
Safety Media also provides cloud-based logging and reporting solutions for fire and building inspections as a distributor of the C2020 Compliance Management Solution from Commercial Fire and Safety Inc.
Our professional services round out our offering with consulting, fire safety plans, and smoke control procedure development and testing services.
The Inventory and Warehouse Specialist will report to the Accounting Department.
Responsibilities:
1) Shipping and Receiving (60%)
- Utilize shipping platforms for couriers such as FedEx, UPS and Maddash
- Create shipping labels and receive products in the system by matching PO#s
- Organize and place stock on shelves and at store
2) Inventory Management (25%)
- Analyse monthly inventory reports and correct discrepancies
- Perform regular check counts of raw materials and resale products
- Reconcile Inventory differences between physical stock and our system
- Work with production and purchasing to maintain an adequate level of inventory
3) Production (10%)
- Support the production department as needed; taping, trimming, cutting, etc.
- Opportunities to train on production equipment (CNC machines, flatbed printers, etc.) while building a career path for growth within the company.
4) General Maintenance (5%)
- Run monthly sprinkler and alarm tests
- Perform general maintenance, including salting and sweeping floors
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience in inventory control and warehouse duties
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, and web-based management systems
- Attention to detail and excellent organization skills
- Reliable, punctual, courteous and team player
- Must be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs
- Forklift Certificate is an asset
- Adobe Illustrator is an asset
