JOB POSTING – SHELTER TEAM LEAD
Agape House Eastman Crisis Centre Inc. has been providing essential services to Southeast Manitoba since 1985. We support survivors of gender-based violence in making informed decisions toward lives free from abuse.
We are seeking a 0.80 FTE Shelter Team Lead who plays a key people leadership role, supporting shelter operations through staff supervision, hiring, training, performance management, and scheduling. The role includes day, evening, and weekend shifts with regular overlap with management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision, and support to the Shelter Support Team
- Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and coaching of shelter staff
- Support performance management, feedback, and improvement processes
- Create and manage staff schedules to ensure safe and consistent coverage
- Foster a respectful, trauma-informed, team-based work environment
- Oversee daily shelter operations and service delivery standards
- Collaborate with community partners and internal leadership
- Stay informed on legislation and best practices related to gender-based violence
- Contribute to operational planning and service improvement
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in staff supervision, team leadership, or people management
- Experience with hiring, training, performance management, and scheduling
- Strong understanding of gender-based violence and trauma-informed care
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Clear Criminal Record Check and Adult & Child Abuse Registry Checks
- Conflict resolution or mediation training considered an asset
- Social work experience is an asset
