ABOUT THE ROLE
AVS is seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined Service Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Service Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining, and servicing mobility and accessibility equipment while providing exceptional customer service.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and making a meaningful difference in customers' lives. The successful candidate must be willing and eligible to travel to the United States periodically to attend manufacturer training and certification programs, as part of their ongoing professional development and technical certification requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and service mobility and accessibility equipment.
- Perform troubleshooting, mechanical adjustments, and warranty repairs.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and test drives as required.
- Complete service documentation and inspection reports.
- Diagnose customer vehicles and communicate repair needs.
- Coordinate with the Service Manager regarding parts and repair schedules.
- Prepare incoming inventory for sale.
- Keep the service bay clean, organized, and safe.
- Ensure vehicles are cleaned and prepared for customer delivery.
- Participate in ongoing technical training and maintain required certifications.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Basic electrical knowledge.
- Mechanical and/or Hydraulic experience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift, stand, bend, and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Must be eligible to travel to the United States for manufacturer training and certification programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with automotive, mobility, accessibility, or mechanical equipment.
- Willingness to learn and participate in ongoing technical training.
- Ability to achieve and maintain select Training Certification(s).
