Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Lumber Yard Labourer and Delivery Driver to join our team. This role involves assisting with warehouse operations, handling lumber and building materials, and delivering products to customers. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, possess strong communication skills, and have experience in warehouse or commercial driving environments. Duties
- Load and unload lumber and building materials using appropriate equipment such as forklifts
- Safely move materials within the warehouse and yard to designated areas
- Assist customers with loading purchases into their vehicles, providing excellent customer service
- Operate commercial vehicles to deliver products to various locations efficiently and safely
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard to ensure safety and accessibility
- Conduct routine inspections of delivery vehicles and report any maintenance issues
- Follow all safety protocols during material handling and driving activities
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers to coordinate deliveries and address inquiries
Skills
- Experience in warehouse operations or lumber yard environment preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Forklift operation skills are a plus but not mandatory; training can be provided
- Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members
- Valid G license with clean driver's abstract
- Good moving skills for handling large or bulky materials
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to material handling and vehicle operation
- Reliable with excellent time management skills to meet delivery schedules
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
