BBQ Chef / Churrasqueiro (Grill Cook)
Do you have a passion for barbecue and exceptional customer service? Join our team at MINAS Brazilian Steakhouse, Calgary’s authentic churrascaria, renowned for its Rodízio-style dining experience and tradition of excellence since 2015.
We are looking for a skilled BBQ Chef / Churrasqueiro (Grill Cook) to enhance our Rodízio-style meat service. You will prepare, grill, and serve meats directly to customers, ensuring every guest enjoys an exceptional dining experience.

Experience in steakhouses, churrascarias, meat preparation, or meat service, or willingness to learn.

Strong knife skills, including sharpening and maintaining knives and cutting tools in excellent condition.

Ability to slice meats directly from skewers with precision and confidence while serving guests.

Knowledge of cooking temperatures and meat doneness levels to meet customer preferences.

Excellent communication and customer service skills when interacting with guests at the table.

Good memory and attention to detail to keep track of meat rotations, service flow, and customer requests.

Proven ability to maintain a clean and organized workstation and handle heavy-duty kitchen equipment.

Knowledge of and adherence to food safety regulations and kitchen best practices.

Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced service environment.

Experience with Brazilian or international barbecue styles.

Ability to speak multiple languages, which is an asset when interacting with our diverse guests.

Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
As a BBQ Chef / Churrasqueiro, you will:

Accurately and efficiently cook meats, fish, vegetables, and other dishes using traditional Brazilian grilling techniques.

Prepare and season meats to perfection, ensuring they meet customer expectations and preferences.

Serve meats Rodízio-style, slicing directly from skewers to guest plates with skill and precision.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the grill area, kitchen, and equipment.

Follow strict food safety and sanitation procedures.

Assist with buffet preparation, plate garnishing, and catering orders.

Perform opening and closing duties, including equipment checks, cleaning, and preparation for the next shift.

Minimum 6 months of cooking experience.

Strong knowledge of knife handling and sharpening techniques.

Experience working with commercial kitchen equipment.

Excellent time management, multitasking, and organizational skills.

Ability to safely lift and maneuver skewers and trays weighing up to 50 pounds.

Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
