Brandt Industries is currently seeking a meticulous Design Engineer to join our team. The Design Engineer is responsible for the design and development of new equipment, as well as the continuous improvement of existing products. This role includes performing design validation and verification as required and producing engineering design deliverables. The position requires strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic knowledge, along with well-developed technical and analytical skills. The engineer is expected to engage in continuous learning and improvement in both professional development and design methodologies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Designing Hydraulic systems, machines, and devices which meet our customer’s needs and which, when produced, comply with sound Engineering practices and standards.
- Review, evaluate, and improve upon engineering designs, drafting, schematics, and specifications.
- Produce Engineering deliverables that meet quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
- Recommend improvements to current design of products.
- Focus on DFx (i.e., Design for Manufacturability, Serviceability, Reliability, Affordability, etc.).
- Provide feedback and advice regarding the technical and structural aspects of projects.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure project success.
- Use 3D CAD to develop projects and products.
- Design, prototype, and testing of hydraulic systems.

Required Experience
- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent.
- Proficiency with design and 3D CAD tools, SolidWorks preferred.
- Strong mechanical background with a focus on machine design preferred.
- Practical experience with product development and testing.
- Familiar with mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Familiar with ERP systems and lean manufacturing processes are considered an asset.
- Business travel may be an occasional requirement.
